Texas recalls DeVergilio from Idaho

The Texas Stars have announced that they have recalled Kevin DeVergilio from the Idaho Steelheads. With both Ray Sawada and Warren Peters up in Dallas, they will need an extra forward skater to even make 12 and DeVergilio is their man. He played eight games at the beginning of the year then was scratched for a few and eventually sent down on November 2nd. This will be his second stint in the AHL. The Stars previously were down to 11 forward skaters with Peters and Sawada in Dallas and Wilson out for injury. Here's the release.
The Texas Stars announced on Wednesday that forward Kevin DeVergilio has been recalled from the Idaho Steelheads, Texas’ ECHL affiliate.

DeVergilio, a center from Sterling Heights, Michigan, is currently ranked second among all ECHL rookies with a .220 shooting percentage, scoring nine goals on 41 shot attempts. DeVergilio added seven assists and totaled 16 points in 17 games played. The Idaho Steelheads currently lead the National Conference of the ECHL with a 25-10-0-2 record.

DeVergilio has played in eight games for Texas this season, recording one assist, 12 penalty minutes and a -2 plus/minus rating. The 23-year old forward is in his rookie season after a four-year career at St. Lawrence University from 2005 to 2009. DeVergilio recorded 113 points in 143 NCAA games for the Saints.
