The Texas Stars open their home schedule against a familiar foe this evening in Cedar Park. The San Antonio Rampage, who the Stars opened the season against on the road, will come visit on the night that the Stars raise the Western Conference Championship banner.

In the time since San Antonio and Texas last tangled, only the Rampage have played a game, losing to the Peoria Rivermen last night by a mark of 6-2. Al Montoya was the starting tender and stayed in for all 3 periods despite allowing 6 goals on only 20 shots. San Antonio peppered Rivermen goalie Ben Bishop with 44 shots on the night but still came away with the loss. The Rampage allowed 3 PP goals on 7 opportunities for Peoria and scored just once in nine of their own opportunities.

The big item on the docket for the Texas Stars tonight will certainly be the raising of the Western Conference Championship banner. The Stars' former cohorts Stafford, Beaudoin and Climie will certainly be energized to return to the Cedar Park Center to prove themselves, especially after the tough 3-0 loss they endured at the hands of the Stars last weekend.

Make sure you're in your seat early tonight to see the banner raising and the new Texas Stars intro video for 2010-11.
