Goalie Beskorowany Recalled, LeMay Assigned

It looks like Texas performed a bit of a goalie swap today. Allen Americans goalie Adrien LeMay has been returned to the CHL, according to the CHL website, and Tyler Beskorowany has been recalled from the Idaho Steelheads, according to the ECHL. Both transactions have been added to the AHL transaction list as well.

In my estimation, this is not good news for the Texas Stars. Sending down a player like LeMay and recalling a Dallas guy like Beskorowany points to a longer term issue for Texas's other goaltender, Brent Krahn. With a 3-in-3 stretch coming up over the weekend, Texas is clearly feeling that Krahn will not be ready for Friday and the team does not feel comfortable having LeMay possibly start a game in the stretch. Since the AHL is indeed a development league, it would make more sense from a business perspective to allow Dallas prospect Tyler Beskorowany to get a start at the AHL level.

It also sets Texas on a difficult path with regard to experienced goaltending. Richard Bachman has played in 58 professional games, most of them last year with the Idaho Steelheads (43). Beskorowany is only 10 games into his professional career after coming out of the OHL to join the Dallas organization.

Beskorowany is currently 4-3-3 with a 2.27 GAA and .932 SV% in the ECHL. The Steelheads have struggled a bit out of the gate, ranking third in their four team division.
