Brandon Segal Clears Waivers, Heads to Texas

As we discussed yesterday, Brandon Segal's two-way contract made him an easy decision to send down to the minors. With the addition of Jamie Langenbrunner, Dallas decided to put the winger on waivers.

Today, he cleared and has been assigned to the Texas Stars. I am assuming he will meet the team in Illinois for the Chicago game. Segal is a right wing, which is a position that Texas is not short at (unlike Dallas). I have no idea who this knocks out of the lineup for Texas. Sean Backman or Cody Chupp, who are on the bubble between the AHL and ECHL, could be the one to go to Idaho or Allen. Chupp is not Dallas's property, so he might be more likely to make the jump than Backman, who is.

  1. Backman is property of Dallas. Chupp is not. Shoudn't the blogger of the Stars know facts like this?
