Dallas Assigns Wathier

Francis Wathier has been returned to the Texas Stars by Dallas this afternoon. The left winger is expected to be back in Austin by gametime, but it is uncertain if he will play.

Here's the release:
The Dallas Stars announced on Saturday that the NHL club has placed Krys Barch on Injured Reserve with a facial injury, retroactive to Feb. 3, when he suffered the injury at Boston. The team also announced that it has assigned left wing Francis Wathier to the Texas Stars, Dallas’ development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Wathier, 26, has appeared in three games for Dallas this season, going scoreless. He has also played in 44 AHL games for Texas, recording 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Wathier represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 31 in Hershey, Penn. The 6-3, 208-pound winger was Dallas’ sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Barch, 30, has appeared in 32 games for Dallas this season, scoring one goal and one assist with 80 penalty minutes. He originally signed with Dallas as a free agent on July 18, 2006.
