Texas Gets Two Points Off Toronto in SO

These were two points that the Stars really needed. Coming in with a three game losing streak and losing ground in the West Division, Texas needed two points anyway they could today in Toronto. The Stars took the game all the way to the shootout to earn them but ultimately did on shootout goals from Greg Rallo and Francis Wathier.

Six of the seven other teams in the West Division are in action this afternoon; OKC is the lone team idle. All of the West teams are playing each other, so Texas will surely keep an eye on the scoreboard as they board the plane to come back to Texas.

Toronto took the early lead in the game with Nazem Kadri beating rookie Tyler Beskorowany for his 17th of the year. Kadri is a highly touted prospect for the Maple Leafs. Texas and Toronto then skated through 40 minutes of scoreless hockey until the third period.

The Stars came back in the middle of the third with Travis Morin scoring his third goal in two games to tie things at one a piece. Greg Rallo and Sean Backman assisted on the rebound goal.

Tyler Beskorowany stopped 22 of 23 shots in the regulation and overtime to take the game to the skills competition, where he was flawless. Beskorowany stopped all four shooters, including Kadri, to seal the victory for Texas.
