Texas returns home to close out yet another season series, this time against the Rockford IceHogs. The IceHogs have not found success this year as they did in the last and are solidly out of the playoff hunt with just a week left. The IceHogs, however, are nothing to scoff at. The Stars are only at a 3-2 advantage over them in the season series.

Rockford had put together a late season five game winning streak of their own before getting stomped 7-0 on Friday at Oklahoma City. Sadly, they have been out of the playoff race for far too long for a late season run such as that to have any effect. Right now, their one role is to play spoiler for any team they face.

Some unlikely players lead the season scoring for Texas: Luke Gazdic (2 goals) and Dan Spang (3). Jeff Taffe leads the season scoring for the IceHogs. A variety of goaltenders have suited up for both teams. Alex Richards and Hannu Toivonen have split starts against Texas this year. Toivonen has been far more successful with a 2-0-1 record. Richards is 0-2-0.

Bachman, Krahn and Beskorowany have all gotten starts against the IceHogs this season. I would think that Beskorowany would get the start this time around with Bachman getting the previous two starts. The Stars will be riding Bachman into the playoffs and beyond, so they would probably love to give him some rest now while they can still afford it..

Stars injury/call up report:
Ludwig (upper body)
