UPDATE: The NHL Lockout is over. That means this could be the last Texas Stars game for Cody Eakin, Toms Vincour, Brenden Dillon or perhaps some other players.

Guess who? No, not Oklahoma City; it's Houston. Texas plays its seventh game against the Aeros in their 35th game of the season. So far, the Stars have a 2-2-2 record against Houston on the season.

As previewed on Friday, Texas and Houston didn't really need the third period as the team up after forty was the ultimate winner. The Stars were that team on Friday, winning by a 2-1 mark.

The Stars expect to have Nilstorp back in the net for today's game. Including that, they aren't really expecting to change a lot.

"Friday we obviously got what we wanted out of the game," said Colton Sceviour. "We played them the way we wanted to and that's how we want to play them again. We've had our back and forth with wins and losses against them. We're hoping to play just like we did on Friday."

Darcy Kuemper played for the Aeros in the second game in their 3-in-3, so Texas is likely to see Matt Hackett again. Kuemper did win his game in a 1-0 shutout against San Antonio. ECHL call-up Nick Petersen had his second of the year on the power play, assisted by Connelly and Zucker.

Stars injury/call up report:
Wathier, Sloan (injury)
Morin (questionable, head)

  2. So now that a deal has been reached in the NHL, when do the Texas Stars send their players up? Will they be playing today?

  3. the lockout will not effect tonight’s game. and the NHL has made no mention of when the regular season would start. so it is hard to say when players would return to Dallas and who would be going but i suspect Jordie Benn would follow his brother to Big D. since he is on a 2 way this year. also joining him might be Antoine Roussell & Toby Peterson. also possibly our captain maxime fortunus is also on a 2 way deal.

    1. Training camp will be very limited. I imagine only the players who will make the roster will be called.

  4. Wow, so that could mean up to 7-8 players going up, at least to training camp. On the plus side, Austin Smith and Tousignant will get a chance to come back to Central Texas. I am excited to see if Smith can carry over his success.
