Ryan Button has been recalled to Texas from the Idaho Steelheads this morning. It was an expected move with Texas only having five healthy defenseman after the recall of Kevin Connauton to Dallas. Patrik Nemeth and Maxime Fortunus are both out with injury at the moment.

Here's the release:
The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has reassigned defenseman Ryan Button to Texas from the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.

Button, 22, has played in 13 ECHL games for Idaho this season and is tied for the league-lead in points amongst defensemen with 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists), a +1 rating and nine penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alberta native made the Texas Stars 2013-14 opening night roster, but has not yet played an AHL game this year. Originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round (86th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Button was acquired by Dallas on July 4, 2013 in a seven-player trade with Boston, along with Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley in exchange for Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, Joe Morrow and Reilly Smith. He is in his third pro season and has played in 108 career pro games, including 60 in the AHL for the Providence Bruins where he had three assists and 33 penalty minutes.
