Defensive injuries continue to mount for the Dallas system as Aaron Rome was injured on Monday in Colorado. Cameron Gaunce is with the Dallas club now and Texas was out a top defenseman. Texas is now featuring three defensemen that started the season in the ECHL in their everyday lineup: Labrie, Button and Sinkewich.

It's a good thing that the Stars got both of their top tenders back in time for this defensive injury bout. Cristopher Nilstorp struggled in Jack Campbell's stead but has improved over the last few weeks. Nilstorp has a three game winning streak going. He's dropped his GAA from 3.16 to 2.99 with the past three games. Campbell for his part has yet to lose on the season. He has allowed more than one goal just once on the season, going a perfect 4-0. He's got a 1.25 GAA and .949 save percentage.

Goalies are part of the story in San Antonio recently as a familiar face has been traded to Hartford. Dov Grumet-Morris was shipped to the Wolf Pack for future considerations, leaving the Rampage with Michael Houser and Rob Madore. In fact, in the last week the Rampage have completely flipped their goalies from Jacob Markstrom and DGM to Houser and Madore. Madore, who gave Texas fits as a Charlotte Checker, was signed to an SPC just as DGM was sent to Hartford.

Texas overall is looking to tie its franchise record sixth straight win with a W tonight against San Antonio.
