Texas Stars Release PTO Defenseman Jeff May

With William Wrenn healthy again, the Texas Stars have released Jeff May. May got into two games and had a single assist after being signed before Friday's game against Chicago.

The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that the club has released defenseman Jeff May from his professional tryout contract.

May, 26, signed a PTO with Texas on Friday, December 13th and appeared in two games for the Stars, recording one assist and a plus-one rating. The Richmond, British Columbia native also has 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) and 19 penalty minutes in 21 ECHL games played this season for the Las Vegas Wranglers. May was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the fifth round (151st overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and he has appeared in 267 career pro games, including in 143 career AHL games with Norfolk, Providence, San Antonio and Texas, recording 21 points (4 goals, 17 assists) and 122 penalty minutes.
