The big game is here. The one you've been waiting for. No, not that one. The Texas Stars and Charlotte Checkers. The Pink in the Rink game should be a nice postscript to today's Olympic semifinal games, whichever way they go.

The Stars come in on a two game losing streak, dropping contests in Rochester and Toronto after having a lead in each. The one in Rochester was more disheartening as they had a three goal lead in the first and lost in OT 5-4. Charlotte is coming in on a two-game winning streak. A gut-it-out win against Abbotsford at home in overtime was a solid two points for the club. A 4-3 effort against Norfolk followed. Those two broke up a five-game losing skid that included 7-1 and 8-5 throttlings at the hands of Abbotsford and OKC.

Texas holds the edge in the overall matchup at 9-6-1-0. This year they are 2-2. Each team has won and lost home and away. In both cases, Texas won first in the back-to-back and then Charlotte won.
