Texas and the Grand Rapids Griffins have swapped again in the continuing battle for first place in the Western Conference. With no more games on the schedule between the two teams, it's up to each to give themselves a chance at two points every night against the rest of the West in the hopes of beating the other indirectly.

Charlotte rolls into town after defeating San Antonio last night in the Alamo City in the shootout. On their current eight game road trip, they've put up a 4-1 record. They have two more games remaining against Texas and one more in San Antonio on the trip. Charlotte defeated the playoff-bubble Bears twice and traded games with the Norfolk Admirals, who are in the fifth place in the East.

Tonight's game is the first one back for a while for Texas. They've not played at home since Pink in the Rink weekend February 21 and 22. The game was against these same Charlotte Checkers and featured some fireworks with Cameron Gaunce getting suspended for the slew foot of Jared Staal in the game. It remains to be seen if the Stars have similar fireworks in tonight's game.

The game could also feature Jack Campbell for the first time at home since December 18th.
