While the Texas Stars were surely out enjoying a wonderful Sunday afternoon in Austin, the San Antonio Rampage defeated the Charlotte Checkers in North Carolina. Thanks to that result, the Texas Stars have clinched a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the team's five seasons.

Charlotte was the last team of the bottom seven that could catch Texas' 90 point mark. With the loss, the Checkers maximum point total sits at 89.

If Grand Rapids defeats Chicago today in any form, they will also reach 90 points and clinch their spot in the playoffs just behind Texas. The Stars have the current tie breaker advantage on the Griffins with 39 regulation and overtime wins compared to Grand Rapids' 37.
