Mike Dalhuisen, Jesse Root and Ludwig Karlsson have been assigned to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads this afternoon. Dalhuisen and Root both signed AHL deals before heading down. Karlsson is on contract to Dallas. Karlsson and Gemel Smith were locked in a battle for the last roster spot. Smith appears to have won.

The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today they have assigned forwards Ludwig Karlsson, Jesse Root, and defensemen Mike Dalhuisen to their ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
The move reduces the Stars training camp roster to 23 players overall.
