Morning skate note: Drew MacIntyre will get the start for Charlotte.

While the Stars had an off-day for the most part yesterday, some of those who will be in the lineup tonight had a busy Sunday with travel. Mike Dalhuisen, Jesse Root and Branden Troock will all join the team in Charlotte for tonight's game and may even play. The Steelheads played a trio of games in Loveland, Colorado against the Eagles this week. Troock or Root is the most likely to figure into the lineup. With the possible injury to Gemel Smith, the Stars need another forward to play today.

Last time the Stars played a big blowout game in Charlotte, they followed it up with a blowout for the Checkers. After beating Charlotte 7-1 on Friday January 17th, the Stars laid an egg and lost 6-1 the next day against the same squad. Texas gets a day off between these two games and it's actually an evening game. The second game of the set last year started at 11 AM Central. With the loss of Klingberg, this isn't the same roster that the Checkers faced Saturday. Klingberg had 3 points in that game and was ranked 12th in the league in points and second among rookies.

One thing to watch for will be the decision on Jussi Rynnas or Jack Campbell. Coach Laxdal called on Rynnas for back-to-back games against Charlotte and Toronto. It's the first time that's happened for either tender all season. If Rynnas gets the call again, that's not a good sign for Campbell, who is still below .900 on his save percentage (.884).

Stars injury/call up report:
McKenzie, Klingberg (call up)
Smith (quesetionable)

  1. Isn't it possible Dallas could still recall an extra forward depending on the health of Eakin, and Val? With the stars going on the road on road this week, I would think they want the extra forward option.

    1. Possibly, but probably not before their game Tuesday.
