Former Stars Down Texas in Adirondack, 3-2

Goalie Anders Lindback stops 23 of 26 in first AHL game of season

Former Star Taylor Vause probably had this one circled on the calendar as soon as he signed on with the Adirondack Flames. After starting the season in the ECHL, Vause was signed on a PTO by the Flames and has been making noise in their lineup ever since. The former Texas Star and Idaho Steelhead scored two, including the game winner, tonight against Texas. Matheiu Tousignant, another former Star, had the primary assist on both goals.

Brett Ritchie scored two goals for Texas, his second and third in two games since returning from injury. Connor Hardowa played his first game as a Star, coming up with no points and a minus-1 rating. Goalie Anders Lindback, just assigned from Dallas, put up 23 saves on 26 shots in the loss.

Texas moves to 7-7-7-0 on the season with the loss. The Stars play Hamilton on Sunday.

Tonight's lines:
Hulak-Morin-Ranford
Ritchie-Dowling-Glennie
Rallo-Faksa-Stransky
Troock-Peters-Root

Gaunce-Fortunus
Meech-Honka
Valentine-Hardowa

Lindback

Injuries, scratches, and notes:
Rynnas, McKenzie, Jokipakka (call up)
Wrenn, Smith, Dalhuisen (scratched)
Henderson (out, hand)

Tonight's attendance was 3,270.

  1. The way this season is playing out it is making the 2011-2012 season look like a a raging success. At least then we came into the season with issues like a decline in team production, questionable goaltending, and the front office never seamed to make a move to improve. Looks like this year we just have the front office isn't doing anything to improve the team issue.

How many more weeks can Laxdal keep his job at this rate? I mean I do like the guy but how do you explain away 1 win in the last 11 games?

  2. They could turn this around by finding a big strong ECHL fighter to come up and start putting some guys into the boards. Plain and simple, if you can't establish even a little bit of respect out there, the other team will run you over. That is what is happening. We don't complete checks. We let the other guy go hard at the puck without worrying that he might get slammed.
