Matt Mangene, who came to the Texas Stars on a PTO out of ECHL Florida, has signed an AHL deal for the rest of the season. Mangene was nearing the end of his 25-game professional tryout with Texas and this deal settles the question of what's next.

Here's the release:
The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today they have signed defenseman Matt Mangene off his tryout agreement and to an AHL contract for the remainder of the season.

Mangene (MAN-jeen), 25, signed a tryout agreement and joined the Stars on Dec. 20, 2014. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Manorville, N. Y. tallied assists in his first two games for the Stars and has appeared in 15 games this season, recording seven assists overall.
