Defenseman Jamie Oleksiak Recalled to Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars have recalled Jamie Oleksiak to replace the injured John Klingberg in their lineup. Dallas has lost Trevor Daley and Klingberg over the past week.

William Wrenn should figure into the lineup now for Texas, but the AHL's Stars might want a 7th man before their road trip starts later this month. For now, I wouldn't anticipate any moves from Texas. Mike Dalhuisen is the only choice Texas has on contract in Idaho that they would consider. Troy Vance has been playing 5-6 pairing minutes when he is in the lineup.

Here's the release:
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Jamie Oleksiak from the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Oleksiak, 22, has registered eight points (1-7=8), eight penalty minutes and 29 shots on goal in 32 games for Dallas this season. He has skated in 19 games with Texas this season, posting 11 points (3-8=11) and a team-leading +11 plus/minus rating.

The 6-foot-7, 250-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was selected by Dallas in the first round (14th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

  1. Definitely need William or Valentine to step up now. 4 games left to keep this from being just a bad homestand and not a disastrous homestand.
