The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced today defenseman Mattias Backman and forward Jason Dickinson have been assigned to the team.

The 22-year-old Backman (muh-TIGH-uhs BAHK-man) joins Texas after completing his season in the Swedish Hockey League for Linkopings HC, recording four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in 25 games.
