Among the seven games on the calendar tonight is the final matchup on the season between Iowa and Texas. The Stars are 5-1-1 against the Wild this season. As the year winds down in Des Moines, it's nearly a statistical guarantee that Iowa will finish with the worst record in the league.
Texas went out on this road trip in need of some point to lock up a playoff spot. Interestingly enough, maybe the Stars are rooting for the Rampage tonight. San Antonio is playing OKC tonight and a win for Texas with a loss for the Barons would put Texas up to 5th place and drop OKC to 6th. Of course, the merits of such a rise in the standings is dubious. If the Stars make it to fifth, they are currently slated to play fourth place Rockford. Texas is 0-3-1 against the Chicago affiliate.
So... is this one of those weird points where you should root for OKC to win so Texas doesn't play Rockford? Maybe.
