Each week, we name the Lone Star Grille/100 Degree Hockey Player of the Week. Lone Star Grille offers happy hour weekdays from 4-7 PM just minutes from the Cedar Park Center. The new Higher Ground Bar at the Grille is a smoke-free bar open 6 PM to 2 AM Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Redeem your game ticket for reverse happy hour from 10-12 PM with $2 off specialty cocktails, $4.00 house wine and $2.50 domestic longnecks.

Being perfectly honest, it wasn't a great week to be a Texas Star. Two games in the calendar week and tough losses in both.

However, Texas did have one player that helped keep things within grasp of victory throughout those games. That was goalie Maxime Lagace. The rookie tender may have collected two losses this week, but he saw a lot of pucks and kept Texas in things. On Saturday, he stopped 42 shots. Last night, he saved 29.

Given the way the Stars played last night, the fact that the game was in their reach as the third began was squarely on Lagace. With several key breakaway stops in the first, he held onto Texas' 1-0 deficit and prevented it from ballooning. The only tough part is that Juuse Saros did him one better and collected the shutout to win.
