UPDATE: Texas regains center depth as Justin Dowling is assigned this afternoon from Dallas. The Stars also signed Ethan Werek to a PTO.

The Stars handed the Reign their first regulation loss of the season and earned their first win over the Ontario team in history last night. It's time to re-rack and do it again this evening. Head coach Derek Laxdal has always said that there is a response from the losing team the next night in a back-to-back. With how tight last night was, Texas is going to have to manage the early game to ensure they don't get behind by more than a goal and see the game get away from them. On their road trip, that was what plagued them.

Key to the game will be ending the first period with a lead, or at worst, no worse than a one-goal deficit. The game is manageable from there. If they cannot get that, they'll be chasing, which has been a weak point for them so far in the wins and losses sense. While they've come back frequently, they haven't had the ability to close the gap entirely in every instance.

I would expect Imoo and Desrosiers in the nets. We'll know more after morning skate.

Stars injury/call up report:
Dowling, Smith (call up)
