Philippe Desrosiers saw his first game action of the season, but it was for the wrong reasons as Stockton lit up starter Maxime Lagace and ultimately defeated Texas 5-1.

Lagace stopped just 5 of 8 shots against him in the first eight minutes of the game, dropping his save percentage to .921. Texas struggled to get shot on the board in the first, starting at an 11-2 deficit through the halfway point. Those that were on net were mostly deflected by rookie Jon Gillies. The Heat goalie stopped 29 of 30.

The only Texas Stars to pierce that armor was Austin Fyten, who was playing in his first game of the season. Fyten was scratched for both games this past weekend but this game was not his first as a Texas Stars. Fyten started in the AHL with the Texas Stars back in 2013. The tally was, however, his first goal with Texas. His previous stint saw him only scored two assists across eleven games.

Texas was shutdown on the power play three times while Stockton scored on two of five. The Stars are 13 of 16 on the season after three games.

The California trip continues with a jaunt to Ontario on Friday.
