Stars Earn First Win in Two Years in Grand Rapids

Texas won its first in Grand Rapids in two years on a late-game blast by Matej Stransky. Texas gained several players over the past few days who helped in the cause. Esa Lindell was plus-2 and Gemel Smith had a goal and was also plus-2.

The Stars scored first in the contest but did not hold the lead for long. Jason Dickinson's unassisted goal was followed by three Griffins tallies to make it 3-1 midway through the game. Each of those goals came on the power play and Texas looked to be falling into a familiar rhythm.

Gemel Smith and Travis Morin stepped up to tie the game, setting the stage for Matej Stransky goals with 2:40 left in the third.
