According to the ECHL transaction wire, the Texas Stars have added defenseman Joe Faust to their lineup today. Faust is in his second pro season and currently leads all Steelheads defensemen in scoring with 17 points in 27 games. He also sports a team-best plus-7 rating. Faust spent all of 2014-15 with the AHL's Albany Devils and split his 15-16 campaign between the Devils and the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder.
This may have something to do with the instigator penalty that Dustin Stevenson took in the final five minutes of the Saturday night game. That's an automatic one-game suspension. Matt Mangene won't be available to drop back on D since the Stars need him up front with the loss of Denis Gurianov to the World Juniors.
