Condors Break Through in Overtime, Top Texas 2-1

Texas struck early to go ahead but the Condors stormed back in the third period and overtime to win 2-1 tonight in Bakersfield. The game started a six-game road trip for the Stars, who continue on to Stockton for a weekend pair.

Denis Gurianov was the lone goal scorer for the Stars, a backhand tally just five minutes into the contest. Mike McKenna halted all he saw until the third when Josh Currie beat him with a shot that went off the goalie's skate and in. Iiro Pakarinen scored in overtime on a wrister to collect the first overtime win of the season for the Condors.

McKenna stopped 36 of 38 shots against while Laurent Brossoit stopped 22 of 23 Texas shots. The loss keeps Texas in fifth place in the Pacific.

The Stars return to action in Stockton on Friday.
