Landon Bow stopped 39 of 41 shots across 65 minutes of work, but the Stars fell in the shootout in Grand Rapids 3-2.

The Stars opened the scoring late in the first period with Roope Hintz's 19th of the season. Grand Rapids tied it up in the second, a period where they outshot Texas 12-4. The always productive Ben Street pushed the Griffins ahead early in the third period on a one-timer from the left wing circle. Not to be kept down for long, Texas tied it on a tip by Sam Laberge at 5:31.

Texas took a bench minor for too many men late in the overtime frame but got out unscathed to the shootout. Tyler Kelleher and Roope Hintz each scored in the shootout but Axel Holmstrom's 5th round score put Grand Rapids on top by a 3-2 final score.

The Stars move on to Milwaukee and Chicago to close the road trip on Friday and Saturday nights. The single point earned tonight helps them stay ahead of the pack, but there is significant distance between the Stars and Heat. Stockton trails Texas and must win five of their remaining eight games to catch up to the Stars point percentage.

Injuries, scratches, and notes:
French, Payne, Thompson, O'Brien, Mangene (scratch)

Tonight's attendance was 8,406.
