The Texas Stars have assigned goalie Philippe Desrosiers to the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads.

Desrosiers did not play in his stint with Texas this go-around. He joins a Steelheads roster that has closed the regular season and is looking ahead to the playoffs, a seven game series against Allen. The Steelheads have found a reliable goalie to replace Desrosiers in his absence with Tomas Sholl, who twice won ECHL Goalie of the Week honors and is 9-0-1 with Idaho with a 1.24 GAA and .953 SV%. It will be very interesting how Coach Graham deploys Sholl and Desrosiers in the playoffs.

Here's the release:
The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Monday rookie goaltender Phil Desrosiers has been reassigned to the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads.

Desrosiers, 22, is 23-9-3 with Idaho this season with a 2.51 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound netminder made his season debut and stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 5-1 win over the San Antonio Rampage on February 3rd.

Desrosiers (deh-ROH-see-ay) was a second-round pick of Dallas in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
