Texas Stars Open Camp Today With 29 Players, More to Come

The Texas Stars begin the defense of the Western Conference championship and the search for more with training camp starting this morning at 10 AM. The club ices 29 players, an assortment of tryouts, AHL deals and NHL assignments.

Here are those 29 players by position in alphabetical order.

Forwards
Dexter Dancs, Joel L’Esperance, Colin Markison, Adam Mascherin, Colton Hargrove, Steven McParland, Nicholas Caamano, Tony Calderone, James Phelan, Brad McClure, Travis Morin, Kale Kessy, Spencer Naas, Robbie Payne, Kyle Schempp, Elgin Pearce, and Samuel Laberge

Defense
Shane Hanna, Keegan Kanzig, Brady Noorish, Nolan Gluchowkski, Ben Gleason, Niklas Hansson, Clint Lewis, Chris Martenet, and Ondrej Vala

Goaltenders
Tomas Scholl, Philippe Desrosiers, and Colton Point

Three on-ice sessions this week today, tomorrow and Thursday will be open to the public. The Stars will hit the road to play San Antonio on Friday and return home to close their two-game preseason slate on Saturday against the same Rampage squad. Usually, the two teams ice a more ECHL/tryout heavy roster on Friday, make cuts overnight, and then play a lineup on Saturday that more closely matches what they expect to have on opening night.
