Dallas Recalls G Matt Murray under Emergency Conditions; Texas Signs Jared Moe

The Dallas Stars have recalled Matt Murray under emergency roster conditions and, in a corresponding move, the Texas Stars have signed goalie Jared Moe to a PTO.

Murray joins Dallas after an injury to Jake Oettinger on Friday night put the club in a bind. With no room against the cap and the second game of a back-to-back incoming, Dallas played in St. Louis with an emergency backup on the bench. After having done that, they are now eligible to recall a player under emergency conditions with a $0 cap hit.

Matt Murray is that player. Remi Poirier, still with Texas, can swap with Murray at anytime and still carry that same $0 cap hit for the length of Oettinger's injury.

Meanwhile, Texas signed Jared Moe, who has been manning the pipes in Idaho. Dylan Wells is on a PTO to Tucson thanks for a 7-0 record in the ECHL this year and Bryan Thomson, signed to Texas on a two-way, is on the Steelheads' reserve list at the moment.

This move leaves Idaho scrambling to be sure. With games this weekend, they have zero goalies. Moe was backed up by longtime Boise EBUG Doug Melvin in their final game of last weekend. However, with the scheduling such as it is, Poirier could play both games against Grand Rapids here at home in Cedar Park and Texas could release Moe to Idaho thereafter. The Steelheads don't have another game until Friday the 22nd.

    1. Currently, unfortunately, a bit of a shrug on Rosburg. The team has been hesitant to give a timeline.
