He goes 100% the whole time he plays. Defensively and offensively he delivers continous punishment to the opposing team with consistent clean hits/checks. His assist/goal record speaks for itself. He is also an inspiring role model/mentor for younger players/kids. Wathier does very well with the media/fans representing the Texas Stars thus completing the package that makes him the Most Valuable Player.

R. Not buying into Coach Pyle's systems was also a rough part of his season, which is something that I don't think the MVP does.Stephen Meservehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01744997023150999054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712793719703864210.post-14113117384857574722012-04-26T18:54:55.194-05:002012-04-26T18:54:55.194-05:00Sceviour was the team's most consistent and mo...Sceviour was the team's most consistent and most complete player. My vote is for #7.

Not a word about Travis Morin? He should be a finalist in place of Fraser. Without Morin's slick passing, there is no Fraser mentioned as season MVP.
-Ross B.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712793719703864210.post-25124974948607612802012-04-26T17:13:17.769-05:002012-04-26T17:13:17.769-05:00Gotta go with Frank.
Stats, Leadership, and Dedi...Gotta go with Frank.

Stats, Leadership, and Dedication are my reasons why. Also, if you could put 5 of each guy out there at the same time, how would the team have faired??

Side note: How many of the other players on the team would stay after a deflating loss and work out for an hour or so? I only know of one.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712793719703864210.post-59498821748543259762012-04-26T11:47:53.326-05:002012-04-26T11:47:53.326-05:00Wow, some great cases for all three. Didn't he also have a pretty slow start to the season? I seem to remember him being blanked until a few weeks in.

I would have to vote Colton, Wathier, Fraser (rookie or not, he's a beast) based on your arguments here. Wathier gets bonus points for his constant hustle and great checks, for sure. A true hockey player's player, Wathier deserves recognition for his dedication to the forecheck, standing up for teammates, and leadership. I'd hate to see him go, as he is also genuinely one of the good guys. #38 all the way.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8712793719703864210.post-84867664846158939872012-04-26T11:23:52.266-05:002012-04-26T11:23:52.266-05:00Francis (Frank the Tank) Wathier. Have loved how this guy plays for the past three seasons, and to see him not let up one bit in what became a dog of a season was inspiring. If I had to point to one guy on the roster and say, "I want the Texas Stars' personality to be *that*", I would point to Wathier. In Texas, we appreciate true grit.

--Chris M.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
