100 Degree Hockey was founded in 2009, the inaugural year of the AHL's Texas Stars hockey club, the primary affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars. The site regularly covers both day-to-day transaction news, game day previews and postgame articles and also performs deeper analysis and in-depth player, staff and coach interviews.

Stephen Meserve, the writer and editor of 100 Degree Hockey, has been a credentialed member of the AHL media corps since the 2010 Calder Cup playoffs. In that time, he has performed hundreds of interviews and covered hundreds of American Hockey League games. Feature-length work by 100 Degree Hockey has appeared on TheAHL.com every season since 2012 (2012, 2013 [1] [2] [3], 2014 [1] [2] [3]) and DallasStars.com.

Meserve's work on 100 Degree Hockey was profiled for the Dallas Stars on NHL.com by Mark Stepneski. He has also been credentialed to cover former Texas Stars for various preseason, regular season and playoff games by the NHL's Dallas Stars.

He is a regular guest on the Texas Stars Intermission Report, where he has been broadcast nationwide on SiriusXM. He has also done live radio interviews with the Abbotsford Heat and Idaho Steelheads and podcast interviews for the Power Play Post Show and SB Nation's Defending Big D. Meserve is also a weekly contributor to Defending Big D as their minor league correspondent.
