Devin Shore is having quite the start to the season. Three goals tonight for his first professional hat trick put him at six on the year in just three games. Shore had the game winner for Texas. Derek Hulak and Brendan Ranford also scored for the Stars.

Rockford opened the scoring with a power play goal midway through the first. Texas answered shorthanded just under two minutes later. Shore's first shorthanded goal of his career tied things at one and cut the momentum on the penalty, which was a double minor to Stransky for high sticking.

Shore went a step further with an even-strength tally less than a minute later to make it 2-1. Derek Hulak, who had assisted on Shore's second goal, scored the ultimate game winner to make it 3-1 after 40.

Shore would score again in the third to complete the hat trick before Brendan Ranford put up an empty net goal, his third goal of the year, to ice the contest.

Maxime Lagace picked up his first AHL win in his first start of the season. He stopped 25 of 27 in net.
