UPDATE: Dallas made it official at 11:30 AM.

The captain, Curtis McKenzie, is expected to be recalled from Texas to the NHL this morning. An injury to Jason Spezza has necessitated the recall. He is expected to be in Washington in time for tonight's game against the Capitals.

Here's the release:
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled left wing Curtis McKenzie from the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

McKenzie, 27, has recorded one assist (0-1=1), a +2 plus/minus rating and nine penalty minutes in four games played for Dallas this season. With Texas, he has posted 45 points (24-21=45) in 45 games played thus far. His 13 power play goals are second in the AHL and lead the team, and he paces the Texas Stars in goals (24).

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Golden, British Columbia was originally selected by Dallas in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft.
