Stars Prospects Split Weekend Games in Traverse City

After falling 6-1 in their opening game in Traverse City, the Dallas Stars prospects team recovered with a 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Jack Campbell, who got the start Saturday, allowed 3 goals in one minute early in the first period. This set the Stars on their heels for a game they would eventually lose 6-1. The Stars' only goal came off the stick of Tomas Vincour, who is expected to be with the Texas Stars this year. Vincour split his last year in junior between the Vancouver Giants and the Edmonton Oil Kings, both of the WHL. The boxscore for the game is here.

Vincour also scored first in the Stars win on Sunday. Michael Neal, and Tristan and Kevin King also scored in the game. Tyler Beskorowany got the start, stopping 26 of 27 shots. Box score for Sunday's game is here.

Texas Stars Head Coach Glen Gulutzan, who is coaching the prospects at the tournament, believes that defense was the difference in Sunday's game.

Mark Stepneski, from ESPN Dallas, is in Traverse City and caught some of the early action in the game, including Vincour's goal at 11 seconds in, on his Flip cam. Check it out:

The Stars have Monday off and will lace them up again on Tuesday against Tampa Bay at 2 PM CST.
