Larsen Reassigned To Texas

With Stephane Robidas back from suspension, the Dallas Stars, as expected, reassigned Philip Larsen to Texas. Here's the release:
The Dallas Stars announced on Friday that the club has assigned defenseman Philip Larsen to the Texas Stars, Dallas’ primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Larsen, 20, skated for Dallas Thursday night recording one assist. He has played in six games for the Texas Stars so far this season, collecting two assists. Last season he appeared in two games for Dallas and tallied one assist. Larsen spent the majority of 2009-10 with Vastra Frolunda HC of the Swedish Elite League where he dressed in 42 games, posting 10 points (1g, 9a) and 20 penalty minutes.

  1. Larsen is now the second Texas defenseman to get a call-up to Dallas and have a puck find the back of the Stars net after he touched it last (recall Vishy). I can see why Dallas is high on Larsen, he's a hell of a skater and moves the puck well, but he needs to get stronger, right now he can get pushed around in front of the net.
