Texas Ships Four to ECHL's Steelheads

Texas sends Neal, Tasssone, Tyler Ludwig and Monast to Idaho. Full final roster expected tomorrow or Friday. Press release below.
The Texas Stars announced on Wednesday that the team has assigned forwards Michael Neal and Matt Tassone, as well as defensemen Tyler Ludwig and Guilliuame Monast to the Idaho Steelheads, Texas’ ECHL Affiliate.

Monast and Neal each return to the Idaho Steelheads where they spent their rookie seasons. Neal played in 57 games for the Steelheads, posting 15 points on five goals and ten assists. The 21-year old also skated in six games for the Texas Stars without registering a point. Neal was drafted in the fifth round (#149 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Monast played in 68 games with the Steelheads, setting up six goals.

Rookies Tyler Ludwig and Matt Tassone will also join the Texas Stars’ ECHL Affiliate. Tyler Ludwig was scoreless in the final seven games of the Texas Stars 2009-10 season after completing a four-year career at Western Michigan University. Tassone turns pro after 187 games in the WHL with Swift Current. Tassone scored 73 goals and set up 46 others for 119 points with the Broncos. He also added 343 penalty minutes in his WHL career. Tassone was drafted by the Dallas Stars in sixth round (#176 overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
