ESPN Dallas is now reporting that Brandon Segal has been placed on waivers following the acquisition of Jamie Langenbrunner. Segal is on a two-way contract and, should he clear waivers, would likely be assigned to Texas.
Segal was a waiver wire pickup for the Stars on February 11th of last year. He has previously played at the AHL level with the Norfolk and Milwuakee Admirals, Pirates, and Monarchs. The 27 year old Richmond, BC, native is a right shooting right winger had career highs in points in the AHL during the 08-09 campaign with Norfolk, garnering 26 goals and 26 assists for 52 points with 95 PIMs to boot.

If Segal comes to Texas, who do you suppose loses ? He'd be only the third natural RW, but he'd be the obvious call-up in the event of injury etc wouldn't you think? Yes Gagnon plays C but in the case of a 4th line call-up I could see them going to Segal. He does have good size though, at 6'2 210 or so.
