Texas Stars 15-9-3-2, 35 pts #5 Western Conference | v. | Oklahoma City Barons 14-10-1-3, 32 pts #8 Western Conference |
December 27th at 7:30 PM
Cedar Park Center, Cedar Park, TX
The Stars will attempt to vindicate their 6-2 loss to the Barons with a home game against OKC tonight in Cedar Park. The Barons have not played since that win over the Stars, a break of four days.
Barons' blogger Neal Livingston opines, "I fully expect the OKC Barons to stumble out of the gate against the Stars tomorrow evening. Even short breaks kill mojo."
OKC had the same length break between their December 16th game and their 3-0 shutout loss to Texas, if that counts for anything.
The Stars will not be experiencing many breaks themselves in the near future. Starting last night, they are currently in the midst of four games in the coming six days. The Stars had a similar stretch from October 19th to October 24th; they lost three of the four. They will be sure to be riding their number one goaltender, Nilstorp, during this streak, however.
Remember that Oklahoma City will be without Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, as they have been for a month now. This time he will be playing, but playing elsewhere. The World Junior Championships are underway in Ufa, Russia. Coverage is on the NHL Network, if you're curious. Players likely to feature in Texas over the next few years include Radek Faska, Brett Ritchie and Emil Molin.
