After not seeing them since December, this will be the third time in a week that the Texas Stars will play against the Charlotte Checkers. Texas took three of four possible points against the Carolina Hurricanes' farm club in last weekend's contests.

Big news for Texas (in more ways than one) was the late news before last night's game that Jamie Oleksiak had been assigned to the Texas Stars from Dallas. The game-changing defenseman had been playing in Dallas after his All-Star Game appearance in the AHL. The big man hasn't played a game for Texas since February 23rd. Despite only having 48 games of work, Oleksiak leads all defenseman in scoring with 6-23-29 and is tied for the team lead in plus-minus at plus-20.

Texas is 4-1 against Charlotte all-time at home and 4-0-1 against the Checkers this season overall. Charlotte comes in with their only win in their last five games coming against the Stars last Sunday in OT. The only change to their lineup since Sunday was the loss of Brett Bellemore to NHL callup. Bellemore is 2-11-13 this season with a plus-12 rating for Charlotte.
