Texas will kick off their Military Appreciation weekend attempting to defeat the Americans, ironically, at the Cedar Park Center. It is Rochester's only visit to Central Texas for the season and only their second ever.

The Amerks and Stars faced off in New York earlier this season, a 5-1 Texas win. That very day, Buffalo had announced the firing of their long-ternured coach, Lindy Ruff, and replaced him with Ron Rolston, then the coach of the Americans. That coaching shuffle set the Americans into a state of uncertainty. They lost three straight after the loss to the Stars. The club got their bearings over the next few as theywent on a six game point streak including five wins. They followed that up with a 1-2 sequence as they approach Texas tonight.

The Stars will likely be without one of their top contributors tonight as Alex Chiasson was recalled yesterday to Dallas as a result of some injuries in the NHL. Chiasson was returned today but Texas still features a long list of players who are out for Texas, fully listed below.

It wouldn't be surprising if Texas put Bachman in the pipes for both contests this weekend. Dallas is seeking ice time for the tender and he had some early issues in the game on Tuesday. The third period was solid for Bachman though and he needs more time to increase both his confidence level and the confidence that the Stars organization has in using him in the backup role in Dallas.

Stars injury/call up report:
R. Smith, Roussel, Benn, Oleksiak, Vincour, Campbell (call up)
Nemeth, Gazdic, Nilstorp (injured)
