With the way Alex Chiasson has been playing, it was really only a matter of time before he got a look in Dallas. With his current callup, announced today by Dallas, it's not certain if he'll practice with the team, let alone play.

Dallas is suffering from some injuries at forward so they've called up Chiasson in case he is needed. It is more likely though that Chiasson will stay in the press box as a healthy scratch.

Here's the release:
The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has recalled right wing Alex Chiasson.

Chiasson, 22, has earned 32 points (12G-20A) and 41 penalty minutes in 53 games for Texas this season. The St. Augustin, Que., native ranks third on the club in scoring and began his professional career last season with Texas after spending three seasons at Boston University. Chiasson led BU with 46 points (15G-31A) last year in his junior season and was named a 2012 Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star. The 6-foot-4, 187-pound forward was Dallas' second-round selection (38th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

  1. He's got to at least practice with them, doesn't he? Otherwise, what good is he?
