The Texas Stars have signed forwards Taylor Vause and Brendan Ranford to standard AHL player contracts after successful professional tryouts. Vause started last season on a PTO and earned a contract after two tryouts. Vause played on the third line in both of Texas's games this weekend. Ranford, who also went to Dallas camp on a PTO, has yet to play a game.
There was no indication if these were AHL-ECHL or AHL-only deals. Vause already has a contract with the ECHL Idaho Steelheads.
