The Stars and Rampage are on opposite sides this December. Texas has just one loss in the month; San Antonio has just one win. In the month, the Rampage are 1-7-0-1. They've not won two in a row in over a month, last doing that by defeating the Barons and Stars on November 19th and 22nd.

Perhaps help is on the way from Florida though. As injury conditions have improved in Sunrise, the Panthers have sent Jacob Markstrom to the Alamo City. Markstrom is 4-5-1 and has a 2.46 GAA and .924 SV%. Recent acquisition Rob Madore was kept in the system, getting assigned to Cincinnati.

The Stars get their captain, Maxime Fortunus, back from Dallas. He will make six total healthy defensemen with William Wrenn, Jamie Oleksiak, Hubert Labrie, Ryan Button and Russ Sinkewich. In case you missed it, Patrik Nemeth is out for at least a month after foot surgery this past week. He had a stress fracture in his foot. Jyrki Jokipakka continues to be out with concussion-like symptoms after the hit from Kale Kessy in last week's game at OKC.

In net, it seems like the Stars are also in a bit of trouble. Jack Campbell missed a scheduled start in last week's set at OKC. Coach Desjardins started Cristopher Nilstorp both nights. On Thursday, Texas recalled Josh Robinson from the Idaho Steelheads. He will likely back up the vet Nilstorp.

It's really too bad for Jack Campbell, who is having an amazing season. He's yet to lose (5-0-0) and hasn't allowed more than two goals in any game all season (1.40 GAA, .947 SV%). If he were anywhere close to those numbers and playing more often, he'd be a shoe-in for the AHL All-Star game in St. John's.
