Dustin Jeffrey will be with the Texas Stars through the Olympic break after being assigned in the late afternoon on Thursday. Jeffrey has been a point per game scorer in the AHL in his career but appeared uninterested and lackadaisical in his last visit to the Cedar Park Center.

Here's the release:
The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has returned center Dustin Jeffrey on loan to Texas.

Jeffrey, 25, has skated in 22 games for the Dallas Stars and Pittsburgh Penguins this season, posting two assists and 18 shots for both clubs. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward has played 112 career NHL contests registering 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists). The Sarnia, Ont., native has played two games for Texas, posting seven shots and a plus-1 rating this season. Originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the sixth-round (171st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft, Jeffrey was claimed off waivers by Dallas on Nov. 17, 2013.

The Dallas Stars will host the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m. at American Airlines Center, their last game before the 2014 Winter Olympic Break.
