Texas is ahead of the pack in the Western Conference but not where they want to be for sure. Unfortunately, many of the clubs that trail them have games in hand. Only the Rockford IceHogs have played more games than Texas this season so far.

This is the last game for both teams before the AHL All-Star Break. The Heat and Texas All-Stars will board a plane this evening after the game to head all the way to St. John's. It's a time difference of 4.5 hours, and the flight could reasonably be called a red-eye.

Texas can't change their conference standing for the moment with a particular result in this game thanks to last night's shootout loss to the same club. The best they can do is 64 points, two behind the Heat with both at the same number of games played.
