Standard fare here for the second game of a back-to-back. You heard about the players in this space yesterday and they haven't changed that much in 36 hours since the last game. Texas shook off their issues with matinee games yesterday for a tight 2-1 win at the "Q". They'll need to shake off another one to have success in tonight's game: their issues with back-to-backs. This season, they are a fine 11-8-1-1. Since January 1st, they are 3-5-1-0. Four of those six losses came on the road.
There's no doubt that it's difficult to play on back-to-back nights. Dallas has struggled mightily with it for a few years now. Something just isn't going right for Texas in that second game. Their average margin of defeat in them is three goals, which is pretty astounding for a team that manages north of 3.5 nightly themselves.
Cameron Gaunce is back into the lineup for Texas. Cristopher Nilstorp is likely to go again in net.
