The Texas Stars and their fans certainly aren't complaining about the 3-0 result in last night's game against the Wolves. However, I don't think anyone expected such a result between the two seemingly playoff-bound clubs. Between the All-Star play of Jake Allen and the callup of the Stars' three top scorers, Texas absolutely needed 'depth' scoring in the worst way. They got goals from Taylor Vause and rookie Taylor Peters in a 'fourth' line role. Kevin Henderson put up his first two points as a Star in the game as well.
Perhaps all the new blood will help Texas to buck their troubling trend in back-to-back matinee games. The Stars are 2-6-1-1 in such games on the season. Luckily there are only two more of them on the schedule: today's and an April 13th tilt against the Rampage in San Antonio.
Matt Climie has been doing well recently for Chicago so he could go in the second game here. It seems unclear if Texas is willing to go with Robinson (5-6-0, 3.42 GAA, .879 SV%) in this game. Surely if Nilstorp were available, he would get the game. Without that possibility, Campbell has a much higher possibility of going.
Stars injury/call up report:
Sceviour, Morin, Mueller, Nilstorp (callup)
Petersen (injury)
