Second-year forward Curtis McKenzie will be the first callup of the 2014-15 season for the NHL's Dallas Stars. The winner of last year's Rookie of the Year honors had the Texas Stars first goal of the season in last night's win.

There was no indication that anyone among the forward ranks was injured in last night's game, so it will remain to be seen where McKenzie fits in. Dallas has been riding with just one scratch so far this season. Last night it was Patrick Eaves. On Thursday, it was Erik Cole. This could also be the case of Dallas heading on a road trip and wanting an extra body on short notice. It can't hurt to go all the way to 23 on the roster with games in Columbus and Pittsburgh this week.

Texas already has two forwards scratched so one of either Derek Hulak or Gemel Smith will jump into the lineup if McKenzie is not back by Friday's game against OKC.
